Chapel Hill Branch Members Volunteer Spring Seedling Project: Cultivating Growth, Supporting Community from April 6 – 12, 2025

Between April 6th and April 12th, 2025, our members continued volunteering their time to nurture the growth of seedlings. As the trays were returned from four members, Eric carefully checked the progress and replanted any seeds that had not successfully sprouted. He also organized the seedlings by placing the same plant types into the same tray, making it easier for the gardener to identify them.

After six weeks of dedicated effort, our members successfully cultivated a total of 144 vegetable plants, including:

  • 11 asparagus bean plants

  • 14 green snap bush bean plants

  • 14 green snap pole bean plants

  • 12 cucumber plants

  • 4 watermelon plants

  • 47 cherry tomato plants

  • 36 hot pepper plants

  • 6 spinach plants

On April 12th, 2025, Eric delivered all four trays of healthy seedlings to our sponsor. These plants will be transplanted into the community garden in Raleigh. We’re excited to see them thrive and proud to contribute to the community in such a meaningful way.

Volunteers who participated in this event were Eric Sun (6 hours) and Matthew Guo (2 hours)
