AYLUS Syosset Volunteers at the Long Island Native Plant Initiative (4/12/2025)

On April 12th, members of the Syosset AYLUS organization volunteered at the Long Island Native Plant Initiative (LINPI). During our visit, we worked under the guidance of Pam, who assigned us several important tasks to help support the organization’s ongoing efforts. Our responsibilities included cleaning up the grounds, sweeping walkways, labeling plants, and placing LINPI stickers on selected plants for identification and organization purposes. We also assisted with waste removal, helped clean out part of the sewage line, and transported various tools and materials to different areas as needed. These tasks were essential in preparing the site for upcoming activities and maintaining a clean, functional workspace. The Syosset AYLUS volunteers worked efficiently and collaboratively, contributing meaningfully to LINPI’s mission of promoting native plant conservation. It was a productive day of service, and we look forward to continuing our support in future volunteer efforts.
