In preparation for the 2025 Easter holiday, members of the AYLUS Morris Branch partnered with the Summit Community Center to help assemble Easter egg and candy bag wraps for local families. This collaborative project aimed to bring holiday cheer to children and individuals in need across the Summit area. The event took place in the days leading up to Easter and provided a fun and meaningful way for youth volunteers to contribute to their community while spreading joy.
Working together in a warm and lively environment, AYLUS volunteers packed over 300 of colorful plastic eggs with treats and carefully wrapped Eastern candy bags with festive ribbons and decorations. Each package was created with care, ensuring that recipients would feel the spirit of the holiday through these thoughtful gifts. The activity encouraged teamwork, creativity, and compassion, as the volunteers remained focused on their shared mission of giving back.
The completed Easter bags were later distributed by the Summit Community Center to underprivileged families and children throughout the region. For many of the recipients, these small packages brought unexpected happiness and helped them feel remembered and celebrated during the holiday season. For the AYLUS members, the experience was both humbling and rewarding, reinforcing the importance of service and the positive impact that even small acts of kindness can have.
This partnership between AYLUS Morris Branch and the Summit Community Center exemplifies the strength of community collaboration and the power of youth-driven volunteerism. Together, they were able to make a difference during a special time of year. The volunteers left the event with a sense of accomplishment and a renewed motivation to continue supporting local outreach efforts in the future. It was a beautiful example of how coming together can create meaningful change—one egg and candy bag at a time.
