Reported by Diana Zhang

On 3/25/2025, 3 members of the AYLUS Newtown branch assisted the Caring For Friends kitchen staff by helping prepare PB&J sandwiches to support low-income families. From 6 PM to 8 PM, volunteers worked together to assemble meals and ensure that every item was prepared with care and attention to detail.

Members participated in an assembly line, each tasked at different stages of the sandwich-making process with different objectives during the volunteering period. Every member performed their task quickly and efficiently, working together to create the highest quantity of sandwiches to distribute within the local community without sacrificing the food’s quality. The teamwork and dedication of the volunteers helped streamline the process and ensured that the meals were ready for delivery to local shelters and food banks.

The event was highly successful, with volunteers showing strong collaboration and a shared commitment to helping the community. Everyone enjoyed the experience of working in the kitchen and contributing to Caring For Friends’ cause.

3 members of the AYLUS Newtown branch each spent 2 hours participating in the event. They were: Diana Zhang (Event Leader), Eric Chen, and Amber Yuan.
