On March 30, 2025, members of the AYLUS Great Neck Branch participated in a volunteer activity, with the purpose of improving Kings Point Park, and creating a better experience for visitors of the park.
The tasks the group worked on included spreading wood chips onto trails, specifically branches, sticks, leaves, and other natural materials. This would contribute to not only making the trails safer, but also allowing for the enhanced plant growth and better soil quality. The volunteers used tools such as rakes to lay the materials around various paths in the park, working together to support a finer environment for everyone.
The significance of the activity goes much deeper, showing how the group came together to collaborate, uniting to make a meaningful difference, and strengthen bonds within the community. Overall, the efforts of the volunteers will continue to help beautify the park and preserve the park’s accessibility.
