AYLUS Dix Hills Volunteers at Long Island Chinese School

On March 30th from 1:30 to 4:30, the AYLUS Dix Hills Branch volunteered at the Long Island Chinese School as teacher assistants. Volunteers chose classrooms to help in, (usually the ones they have been volunteered before); their responsibilities varied across different classrooms but generally included a range of essential tasks. These tasks involved assisting with printing assignments, helping teachers retrieve/hand out materials, and ensuring the smooth flow of the classroom. In addition, volunteers were responsible for escorting little children to and from the bathroom, ensuring their safety during transitions. Some volunteers were also involved in the chess classes, where their support was crucial in maintaining an organized and engaging learning environment. They helped set up chess boards, oversaw the ongoing games, and meticulously tracked scores, contributing to the competitive spirit of the class.

Thanks to the efforts of the volunteers, the classrooms were able to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment. Ensuring a fun and enjoyable learning experience for all involved.
