On Sunday, March 23rd, we continued our efforts to create plastic mats for donation to shelters serving homeless individuals at Tulsa Chinese Christian Church. Building on the knowledge gained from previous sessions, we followed the same method—cutting and tying plastic bags into yarn-like pieces and then crocheting the “yarn” into mats. We made excellent progress, and now we’re working on two mats simultaneously!
We volunteered for two and a half hours, from 1:30 to 4:00 PM, enjoying both the fulfilling work and the great time spent together.
A total of four AYLUS youth participants and two parents contributed to the project. Below are the detailed volunteering hours:
Youth Volunteers:
Neddy Cai: 2.5 hours
Edwin Cai: 2.5 hours
Jonathan Tan: 2.5 hours
Daniel Huo: 2.5 hours
Adult Volunteers:
Ted Cai: 2.5 hours
Meizhu Liu: 1.5 hours
