Newtown AYLUS Members Bring Joy to Sunrise Center with Music, Dance, and Cultural Performances

On 3/22/2025, members of the AYLUS Newtown branch organized and participated in a heartwarming performance at the Sunrise Senior Center. From 2PM – 4PM, volunteers showcased their talents to entertain and engage the senior residents, creating a lively and joyful atmosphere.

The event featured a variety of performances, including musical pieces on piano and violin, vocal performances, and dance routines. Volunteers also performed jazz dances and a mix of singing and dancing routines, adding energy and excitement to the performance. The diverse range of acts kept the audience entertained and created a fun, engaging environment.

In addition to these performances, members introduced elements of Chinese culture by playing the Gu Zheng, a traditional Chinese string instrument, mesmerizing the audience with its soothing and melodic sounds. Volunteers also performed elegant Chinese dances, showcasing graceful movements and vibrant costumes that reflected rich cultural traditions. These performances were especially well-received, as they brought a unique and memorable touch to the event.

The event was a resounding success, with the seniors expressing their gratitude and appreciation for the effort and talent shared by the volunteers. The positive energy and genuine interactions made the event memorable for both the performers and the audience.

4 members of the AYLUS community all spent 2 hours participating in the event. They were: Eric Chen (Event Leader), Lawrence Fang, Kylee Guo, and Sarah Xue.
