On March 13th, 2025, four members of the AYLUS Farmington branch aided the Farmington Public Library in hosting a fun and interactive mystery dinner for local adults.
In between setting up and cleaning up the event, volunteers took on various roles and positions. Performing key roles in the performance, we worked to memorise lines, parts, and actions throughout the story to create a cohesive and consistent narrative for adults to experience. Different members were given different roles with different levels of speaking roles ranging from long interviews with the adults (so they can solve the mystery being performed) and background performers who attended to the adults, kept the performance moving, and aided everyone behind the scenes.
Before the event itself, we met up to perform various rounds of table reads for volunteers to thoroughly understand their roles and get into the personalities of their distinct characters.
Through our work during and preparation for the event, we successfully aided in the creation of the first interactive game event with the intention to allow adults to relax and have some fun.
