The AYLUS Bellaire Branch serves at Books For Development on Saturday, March 22, 2025 from 9 AM to 12 PM.
Books for Development is a non-profit organization based in Houston, Texas that aims to increase literacy around the world, especially in underserved, developing, English-speaking countries. Books are often taken for granted, Books for Development ships donated books to countries with a book famine.
Volunteers sorted donated books into categories. While volunteers sorted, they also considered the conditions of the book, ensuring that the books were in good condition and had high-quality content before being shipped abroad. Volunteers also boxed books by category, diligently packing boxes to the brim and then stacking it on pallets for shipping.
