Reported by Eric Chen

On 3/18/2025, 2 members of the AYLUS Newtown branch assisted the Caring For Friends kitchen staff in preparing sandwiches and other food items to support low-income families. From 6PM – 8PM, volunteers worked together to assemble meals and ensure that every item was prepared with care and attention to detail.

Participants helped make a variety of sandwiches, including ham, turkey, and pork, as well as vegetarian options. In addition to sandwiches, volunteers assisted with preparing sides, packing meal kits, and organizing food for distribution. The teamwork and dedication of the volunteers helped streamline the process and ensured that the meals were ready for delivery to local shelters and food banks.

The event was highly successful, with volunteers showing strong collaboration and a shared commitment to helping the community. Everyone enjoyed the experience of working in the kitchen and contributing to a meaningful cause.

2 members of the AYLUS community all spent 2 hours participating in the event. They were: Eric Chen (Event Leader), and David Soong.
