On March 11, 2025, Aylus Great Neck hosted a tutoring session at the Great Neck Station Library. We have been officially assigned a meeting room every Tuesday from 4:30 to 5:30 PM for this purpose. This event is listed on the library’s schedule and is open to all K-8th grade students who need homework assistance.
During this session, we welcomed five students of various ages. Our dedicated volunteers—Jason Zeng, Baiyu Chen, Zhaoyu Liu, Isla Zeng, Xingzhi Li, and Emma Ding—provided homework help and prepared the students for the upcoming state test.

On March 16, 2025, we participated in the volunteer tutoring course in the Station Library. The meeting lasted for an hour, from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The purpose of this activity is to provide academic support for students in need of help.
Anhang Lu guided a fourth-grade student to solve the math Olympic problems. The focus is on helping students develop problem-solving skills, logical reasoning and a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts. Jerry Li provides tutoring support in separate disciplines to ensure that students receive personalized academic help.
The tutoring course is very fruitful, because the students have a better understanding of their respective subjects. This volunteer also helped us improve our communication and teaching skills while giving back to the community. We look forward to continuing our volunteer work and having a positive impact on students’ academic journey and community.

On 3/15/25 from 4:00-5:00 the Great Neck Aylus branch organized a group of volunteers at the Parkville library branch to help tutor second grade to fifth grade students. Kevin tutored a fifth grader in multiplying decimals and did IXL math practices. Alivia read books with two second graders and also tutored them in writing paragraphs. Everyone learned and improved in something and we are looking forward to seeing more improvements in the future.
