Lake Washington Branch

The fifth online 3D modeling camp was hosted on 2/23/2025, and was taught by Jerry Yang with assistance from Kevin Chen from 11:00am to 12:30pm. After a long 2 week break, students had a recap of Blender features such as selecting modes in edit mode, orthographic views, and edit mode tools like extruding, insetting, and loop cuts and fundamentals such as adding objects and object mode tools. Students had a creative warmup task where they got to model whatever they want, and also created a 3D Model of a robot to practice these fundamentals again. They were also reintroduced to multiple window editing and reference images before having work time with Jerry on their animal project, where they shaped a cube to the basic outline of their animal. Additionally, Jerry spent time making a PowerPoint presentation  recapping previous topics and introducing warmups and practice slides. He also included his own examples of 3D models for the robot warmup and animal project.

Our branch members volunteered from 11:00 am to 12:30 am, contributing a total of 5 volunteer hours:

– Jerry Yang: 2 hours (curriculum design and class slideshow creation)

– Jerry Yang: 1.5 hours (teaching)

– Kevin Chen: 1.5 hours (teaching)
