On Saturday, February 22nd, the Aylus Great Neck Branch Hosted an AAPI event at the Parkville Library. When the volunteers arrived they set up the chairs and tables in preparation for the children. Once the children had arrived Irena Jiang and Zoe Xia began by reading the books “Danbi’s Favorite Day” by Anna Kim and “A Gift for Nai Nai” by Kim-Hoa Ung. After the reading, volunteers Rebecca Xu and Kevin Zhang did arts and crafts with the children by using plates, pipe cleaners, and markers to create animals as well as some coloring activities. Meanwhile Rainie Cheng, Adele Wang and Tiffany Zhang were teaching crochet to others as well as working on their own projects. The children enjoyed the event a lot and are believed to come again next week.
