On Saturday, February 22nd, 2025, Aylus Roslyn volunteered for the Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County (CP Nassau) at a group home in Seaford.
Today the volunteers did many fun activities with the residents, and everyone had a great time. First, we started by baking sugar cookies. The residents all enjoyed mixing and adding in the ingredients and we even had to make a second batch! After the dough was put in the fridge, we moved onto some arts and crafts. The residents made some potpourri bags with dried rose buds, dried white roses, and dried lavender. The bags both smelled and looked pretty. Then, we made some garden portraits by cutting colored paper and we hung them on the wall. We then did a puzzle of the US map, along with locating and naming the capitals of each state. Afterwards, we played a very close round of bingo along with some fun rounds of tic tac toe. Both the volunteers and residents had a great time during the three hours and we hope to come back soon!
