On February 14, three members of AYLUS and two parents participated in a Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) packing session. The process was smooth and well-organized, as FMSC had everything set up in advance—all we had to do was show up and help.
We began in a large group alongside many other volunteers, each representing their organization. A staff member provided an overview of the rules and guidelines before we were divided into smaller teams and sent to our respective packing stations. After washing our hands, we got straight to work. The task was simple and repetitive—efficiently measuring, packing, and sealing food portions.
Once we finished, we cleaned up our station before gathering with all the volunteers to review the total number of boxes and bags packed. Overall, it was a calming and rewarding experience, made even smoother by the thoughtful preparation and structured process.
Together with 75 volunteers, we packed 11340 meals that can feed 10 kids for a year. On average, five of us packed approximately 3024 meals that can feed 2.8 kids for a year. We are very proud of what we achieved.
