Syosset AYLUS Volunteers for CP Nassau at Wantagh 2/8/25

On Saturday, February 8th, Syosset AYLUS went to the Cerebral Palsy Association home in Wantagh. One of the many locations that CP Nassau offers, Syosset volunteers came to join the residents. This association helps ones dealing with cerebral palsy a place for assisted living and care. Cerebral palsy is a disease that affects the brain and how one functions; it affects all aspects of life such as hearing, vision, speech, and more.

As the residents finished up their meals, volunteers sat down and started some activities. From coloring to making paper flower bouquets, everyone engaged in hands-on crafts. Simple activities that allow the residents to get involved makes a big difference for all, even when some can’t physically respond. After they finished up with crafts and coloring, volunteers brought over materials to make pizzas for everyone. Volunteers helped stretch out the dough and lay out all the materials as the residents were able to put on the toppings. As the pizzas baked, everyone got together and played uno.
