Event 41: AYLUS Morris Donates 197 Books and 7 Puzzles to Chatham Library in February 2025

The AYLUS Morris branch organized a successful book collection drive from February 1st to 8th,  totally donating 197 books and 7 puzzles to the Chatham Library. This initiative aimed to promote literacy, encourage community engagement, and provide educational resources for readers of all ages. By gathering a diverse range of books—from children’s stories to classic literature—the volunteers ensured that their contribution would benefit a wide audience.

The book drive was a collaborative effort that involved weeks of planning, collecting, and sorting. Members reached out to friends, family, and local community members to gather gently used books and puzzles. They carefully inspected each donation to ensure that all materials were in good condition before delivering them to the library. Their hard work paid off, as the final collection far exceeded expectations, showcasing the power of teamwork and dedication.

This donation not only expanded the library’s collection but also made educational and recreational materials more accessible to the public. The addition of puzzles provided an extra layer of engagement, offering visitors a fun way to develop problem-solving skills and creativity. The Chatham Library staff expressed their gratitude, recognizing the volunteers’ efforts in supporting the community’s learning environment.

Beyond the immediate impact, this book drive highlighted the importance of youth-led service projects. By taking the initiative to organize and execute such an event, the AYLUS Morris members demonstrated leadership, generosity, and a commitment to making a difference. Their success serves as an inspiration for future projects, proving that even small acts of kindness can create lasting benefits for the community.

Well done, everyone! This achievement reflects the dedication and spirit of service that defines AYLUS Morris, and their contribution will continue to enrich the Chatham Library for years to come.
