West Essex AYLUS volunteers for Livingston Chinese Cultural Day (LCCD) celebration on Feb. 1, 2025

On Feb. 1, 2025, West Essex AYLUS members volunteered and performed for Livingston Chinese Cultural Day (LCCD) celebration.

This year’s Livingston Chinese Cultural Day (LCCD) celebration—a popular community event held over the last 20 years will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1 at Livingston High School (LHS) Fitness Center.

The LCCD celebrations started with Lunar New Year-themed activities(Miao Hui) from 1:00pm. During that time, a variety of kid-friendly games, lantern riddles, activities for seniors, martial arts and performances will be held inside the high school and will include opportunities for prizes.

Stage performances began at 7 p.m. in the LHS auditorium and will feature performances by various Chinese community organizations in Livingston. Performances will include singing, dancing, martial arts and Errenzhuan (a folk dance from Northern China).

West Essex AYLUS members arrived at Livingston High School at 1pm to help on setting up of the afternoon activities.  Our members then worked on afternoon activities with kids, prepared/rehearsal for the evening show, and then worked on and performed in the show. Our Aylus members received a lot of compliments from the organizers.
