On January 25th, 2025, 28 Forsyth County AYLUS chapter members partnered with Biocure, a local student-led organization, and Keep Forsyth County Beautiful for a large-scale roadside cleanup event. The goal was to beautify and restore cleanliness to three major roads in Forsyth County: McFarland Parkway, Post Road (GA-371), and Peachtree Parkway (GA-141). The event was from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, during which volunteers worked along the roadsides, collecting trash. Participants collected a total of 25 trash bags filled with litter – including small debris.
McFarland Parkway (from Atlanta Highway to Trotters Pkwy) was cleaned thoroughly as it is a high-traffic area. The land behind the Race Trac (1385 McFarland Pkwy, Alpharetta, GA 30004) was completely cleaned. Volunteers focused on clearing trash from grassy areas along the roadside, curbs, and sidewalks. Similarly, Post Road (GA-371) was another area. Finally, Peachtree Parkway (GA-141) was the third street cleaned. By the end of the cleanup, the group had gathered 25 trash bags.
Overall, Forsyth County AYLUS, Biocure, and Keep Forsyth County Beautiful, worked together to create a cleaner, safer, and more beautiful Forsyth County.
