On January 19, 2025, Murrieta AYLUS members volunteered at local senior centers.
At Torrey Pines Senior Living: The volunteers arrived and helped the residents get acclimated to their early morning. Singing a few songs and speaking with some of the residents, once they settled they were able to begin a workout. While leading the residents through a small yoga routine, they also helped wrap a large donation box with wrapping paper. After the workout, the residents cooled down and the volunteers prepared a light snack. They put blueberries and sliced bananas into cups and served them, feeding the snack to the residents unable to eat and cleaning out their bibs afterwards. After passing out some cups for hydration, the Sunday mass was put on for the residents to enjoy. Soon nearing lunch the volunteers talked some more with the residents before taking them to the dining room.

On January 19th, 2025, Murrieta AYLUS members served seniors ice cream and played piano.
There was a surprise awaiting members playing piano in the library. A frequent senior who listened to them play gave members a bag of piano books that she used to play when she was a teenager! Members were excited and touched by her kind gesture and promised her they would prepare some pieces from the bag for her next week. Then, they went on to play lots of classical pieces and for the last 15-20 minutes, they played some jazz and popular old tunes. In the ice cream parlor, members made sure to wash their hands before serving and helped clean everything up before leaving.
