On January 7th, AYLUS volunteers gave their second robotics class for students with special needs at the Light and Salt Association (LSA). This class marked an exciting progression, with a specific focus on teaching the students about sensors. Through interactive lessons, the volunteers guided the students in understanding how sensors work in robotics, such as detecting light, sound, or touch, and how these sensors can be used to control robots’ movements or responses. The hands-on approach allowed the students to experiment with sensors, helping them grasp the concepts more effectively. By focusing on simple and engaging activities, AYLUS volunteers made the learning process both fun and educational, fostering curiosity, problem-solving, and teamwork. In addition to the robotics class, AYLUS volunteers also assisted with a bucket drumming class. The energetic atmosphere encouraged teamwork and helped students gain a sense of accomplishment as they created rhythmic patterns together. Furthermore, AYLUS volunteers helped with a handcraft class, where students worked on making flower windmills. Through these diverse activities, AYLUS volunteers provided a well-rounded and enriching experience for the Special Needs at LSA, blending technical learning with creative expression. The robotics, drumming, and handcraft classes together contributed to the students’ cognitive, physical, and emotional development, helping them build a wide range of skills in a fun and supportive environment.
