Murrieta AYLUS Helps Local Food Bank (68th) (1/3/2025)

Reported by Jessica Lu:

On January 3rd, 2025, Murrieta AYLUS members helped their local food bank.
Members took advantage of the winter break to go help out at their local food bank since they can’t go during school days. After members arrived, they started by helping unload the food from the van and brought it out to weigh. Then members started making fruit and veggie bags, putting an ample amount of each fruit available in each bag. They kept making bags until they ran out and then stopped for the morning meeting. After the meeting members were assigned to the dry foods area. They sorted different types of foods into their crates and members finished sorting throuh 3 large containers. At the end, they wiped down the tables and mopped the floor. Before leaving, members were surprised when the people there gave them free pizzas and salads to take home.
