AYLUS Roslyn Provides Food to Local Families through NOSH delivers! Food Pantry (42nd) on December 27th, 2024

On Friday, December 27th, 2024, the Roslyn Aylus Branch volunteered at NOSH Delivers ! Food Pantry from 9 A.M to 1 P.M. NOSH Deliver’s main objective is to provide food and essential items to the community of North Shore.

Members worked alongside the staff to organize and prepare the items for this week’s distributions. We packed numerous bags filling them  with fresh produce such as potatoes, onions, apples, broccoli, and beets. Once we finished packing the bags, we brought the rest of the produce into the farmers market and helped clean the tables after working with the produce. Besides packing and preparing the NOSH bags, members also spent time restocking and organizing the pantry shelves for the people visiting the pantry for food.

From our volunteer experience, we learned about how a food pantry operates and the effort it takes to maintain one. Furthermore, this experience made evident how important it is to work as a team and communicate clearly. It also strengthened our appreciation for our food security and emphasized the importance of managing food properly. We can’t wait to carry out these initiatives in the future.

Members who participated include:

Leah Chan (4 hours), Jasmine Lin (4 hours), Ethan Lin (4 hours), Brian Xiong (4 hours), Eric Xiong (4 hours)
