On Sunday December 22, Great Neck AYLUS members came together at the Great Neck house to participate in a farmers market from 10am to 2pm. Volunteers Kevin and Carrie arrived about half an hour earlier to setup the booth. We sold homemade cookies, homemade handbags, keychains, knitted pouches, scarves, hats, bracelets, and other trinkets such as baubles and earrings. Starting at 12pm, a separate group of volunteers arrived to play music for the farmers market. In the 4 hours that the farmers market was held we only managed to raise about 50 dollars, due to a lack of visitation and interest. Due to how cold the weather was, no-one showed major interest in attending a farmers market and thus the money we raised was menial. While this was not our greatest showing at a market it is important to remember that it was mostly out of our control.
