2024/12/15 The AYLUS Dix Hills Branch Volunteers at Long Island Chinese School

On December 12th, from 1:30 to 4:30 AYLUS Dix Hills volunteers went to Long Island Chinese School to become teaching assistants for teachers and students. This was the last Chinese class of the year, and at the entrance there were festive balloons, candy and posters hung around. AYLUS members were assigned a classroom (the one that they had chosen last time) and went to help out with various activities. The classrooms this week had the students bring in snacks for a party. So AYLUS volunteers helped organize the party, distribute snacks, watch the students and take pictures. It was overall a wholesome experience where classrooms were able to celebrate their achievements throughout the year in a final Christmas party. Some classrooms had talent shows and others watched Christmas movies. Thanks to the help of AYLUS volunteers, the festivities went more smoothly and everyone was able to enjoy the party.
