On December 8th, two impactful events were hosted to serve the special needs community in Pearland. The first was the 2nd Annual Special Needs Portraiture, where more than twenty individuals with special needs participated in portrait sessions with professional photographers from Wampii Studio. Sponsored by Hummingbird Community Outreach and supported by AYLUS Pearland, the event welcomed attendees of all ages, ranging from 5 years old to adults. Volunteers helped prepare goodie bags, greeted guests, and provided companionship to attendees while they waited for their photos.
Following the portrait sessions, volunteers organized My PlayClub #19, featuring photo opportunities with Santa and holiday-themed activities for the participants. This event brought together families and volunteers in a festive, inclusive setting, fostering a sense of community and joy. By combining creative expression with fun holiday activities, the volunteers were able to create a memorable day for individuals with special needs and their families, ensuring they had both an enjoyable and empowering experience.
