On Friday, 12/6/2024, 3 members of AYLUS taught students ranging from third-graders to ninth-graders in various math topics at the local Chinese school, the Newtown Yardley Chinese School. Lucas Zhang (Event Leader), Albert Chen and Alex Hu participated, teaching from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Our volunteers taught two different classes, one for younger students and one for older students. During the teaching time, the older class, taught by Lucas Zhang, covered advanced Distance, Speed, and Time questions, while the younger class, taught by Albert Chen and Alex Hu, worked on Math Kangaroo questions, as well as basic algebra and division with fractions.
All members had an enjoyable time teaching and felt that they had gotten through a considerable amount of content, positively impacting young students within the community by providing math instruction and review.
