On the sunny afternoon of November 17, three members of the AYLUS Chapel Hill Branch took part in a community clean-up along the Bolin Creek Trail. The trail, a popular route for walkers and cyclists, sees heavy use year-round, contributing to environmental damage from litter. Aware of the risks of pollution and the harm litter can cause to local wildlife, our group dedicated an hour and a half to picking up trash along the trail. In addition to picking up trash, we also repaired a birdhouse that had been damaged by falling tree branches. Our efforts led to a significant amount of litter being cleared, improving both the safety and appearance of the area. We are proud to contribute to the cleanliness of our community and remain committed to making Chapel Hill a safer, more beautiful place for all.
Volunteers who participated in this event were Luna Chen (1.5 hours), Nicholas Wang (1.5 hours) and Owen Xie (1.5 hours).
