On November 15, 2024, we were volunteering with other AYLUS members in the non-
profit organization called “Feed My Starving Children” beginning at 7:15 PM. It is a
Christian nonprofit with the purpose of ending hunger. There was a total of 12 people
who came to the organization to volunteer. We packaged MannaPack rice, which used 4
ingredients: vitamins, veggies, soy, and rice. When we were volunteering, we were given
procedures for each of the jobs like labeling, warehouse, packaging, as well as sealing.
We also did some challenges to see which group could get the most boxes while music
was being played. We were table #1, which packed 5 boxes the first, so we won the 1 st
challenge. After about 1 hour and 45 minutes, we finished our food packaging and began
to clean up.
We packed 102 boxes and packed over 20000 meals. We can feed 60 kids at the cost of
$6389.28. That’s amazing! Averagely, Aylus group packed approximately 2698 meals that can feed 7.4 kids for a year. We were impressed by how much progress we have made to end hunger and reached a huge achievement.
