AYLUS Great Neck Branch volunteers at Steppingstone Park (21st) 11/3/24

On Sunday, November 3rd 2024, members of the AYLUS Great Neck branch worked diligently cleaning up Steppingstone Park. We had 20 volunteers dedicate their time for this cause. They worked from around 9:30am to 12:00am. Members first started the morning being handed gloves to remove leftover hay and corn that were used to decorate the park. These fall decorations were then placed in a wheelbarrow to be stored elsewhere.

After this, the volunteers had a short break. During the break, volunteer’s had free time to walk around the park. This was a perfect opportunity to enjoy the great weather. Shortly after that, they finished the session by using rakes and other various tools to pile up leaves. These leaves ended up being placed in buckets to be thrown out. Overall, the commitment of the volunteers led to positive changes in the park’s environment. Volunteers also had a great time socializing whilst still being productive.
