On Friday, October 25th, AYLUS Great Neck hosted their weekly Friday Sports Event from 5:30-6:30pm at Firefighters Park, to engage kids who have disabilities. Many activities were offered, like tennis, frisbees, and folding origami. Today, AYLUS volunteers taught the children how to throw the frisbee and the children taught AYLUS volunteers how to fold origami. Throughout the event, AYLUS volunteers worked closely with the children to ensure they felt included and comfortable. Overall, the event provided a joyful experience for both the participants and volunteers. Everyone at the event is looking forward to hosting future events like this to promote physical activity and to ensure that children with special needs feel comfortable.
