Founded on August 30, 2022, the AYLUS Rancho Cucamonga Branch has built a strong presence in the community through active volunteerism. Originally established by Yongxi Hu (President), Mengyu He (Vice President), and Yangxuezhe Sun (Secretary), the chapter updated its leadership team on December 18, 2023. The current leaders are President Yongxi Hu, Vice Presidents Yangxuezhe Sun and Tommy Tang, and Secretary Ryan Kan.
Starting with a small group of three, the chapter has grown significantly, established a volunteer service group comprising both parents and volunteers, totaling 347 members as of October 2024. This enthusiastic team has organized 110 volunteer events, impacting over 5,000 community members in Rancho Cucamonga and neighboring areas. Key activities include:
Food Bank Volunteering: Since February 4, 2023, the chapter has held 32 food bank events, contributing 164 volunteer hours and supporting 483 individuals in need.
Fundraising Events: Through Mid-Autumn Festival and Lunar New Year sales, the chapter raised $1,000, in addition to collaborating with Hope through Housing to raise over $5,000 for youth basketball programs in 2023 and 2024.
Clothing Drives: The chapter organized two clothing donation drives, collecting 46 bags of clothing and providing essential items to 67 individuals, with 46 volunteer hours dedicated to this cause.
With each project, AYLUS Rancho Cucamonga continues to grow and deepen its impact, fostering community connections and making a positive difference through youth-led service.
Branch Leadership
Yongxi Hu – President
Yongxi is a 12th-grade high school student with exceptional talent in mathematics and a strong inclination toward STEM fields, along with a deep appreciation for the arts. He is highly dedicated to community service and has actively participated in various volunteer initiatives, aiming to make a positive impact on society. As a primary initiator of the AYLUS Rancho Cucamonga branch, he has demonstrated remarkable organizational skills in advancing community projects and service activities. In addition, as a Youth Leader in the Healthy RC program, Yongxi was awarded a Special Congressional Recognition for his outstanding leadership and dedication, highlighting his commitment to the health and well-being of the community.
Tommy Tang – Vice President
Tommy Tang is a 12th-grade student at Los Osos High School and serves as the Vice President of the Human Rights Club, dedicated to raising awareness of human rights. He has a variety of interests—enjoying time with his dog, indulging in ramen with Korean side dishes, and playing games like Valorant and Roblox. Academically, Tommy is doing well and previously held the role of Senior Patrol Leader in Boy Scouts. Additionally, he’s a certified volunteer, actively involved in community service, showing his commitment and care for the community.
Yangxuezhe Sun – Vice President
Yangxuezhe(Harry) Sun is one of the original founders of the Rancho Cucamonga branch and is currently an 11th-grade student with a variety of interests. He is a varsity water polo player on his high school team, demonstrating resilience and commitment. Additionally, he is the President of his school’s AI Club, where he actively promotes the understanding of artificial intelligence. He also enjoys drumming and has a strong interest in computer programming. As a certified volunteer, he not only participates in regular branch activities but frequently teaches classes for kids, using engaging methods to spark their interest in technology. Yangxuezhe is also active in city events, establishing himself as a respected young contributor to the community.
