Frisco & Plano Branch Fundraising for Loope for Love Project at Russell Creek Park on October 19th, 2024

Reported by Jenny Lin         Posted by Mateen Benarieb

On October 19th, nine volunteers from AYLUS set up shop at Russell Creek to fund our project Loops for Love. Our roles often alternated, as people freely went back and forth from advertising to creating the food/drink items. We had cotton candy, boba tea, and ice cream floats on that day. We found that cotton candy was the most popular along with the boba tea — as the kids from the playground enjoyed cotton candy, while the teenagers and young adults (mainly here for basketball and volleyball) enjoyed boba tea. For example, our advertising team persuaded multiple senior high students to have some boba tea! Additionally, one of the volunteers had the idea of playing K-pop music to give more of a friendly atmosphere to our place. It lasted from 6:30 to 9 PM, and by the end, we raised over $120 for cancer patients!
