Activity & Impact
On October 19th, 2024, three members of the AYLUS North Hollywood branch volunteered for a Calles Verdes Tree Planting event in San Fernando from 8:45 AM – 11:45 AM. Calles Verdes is a TreePeople project that aims to beautify the streets of the city and to help improve the health of those that live in the area through the creation of green spaces and the planting of trees.
During the event, just our volunteers, in partnership with the Environmental Club at the Science Academy STEM Magnet, planted four trees in a neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley. There were many other volunteers at the event, and with all groups planting two trees each, the event was largely successful with a total of 24 trees planted.
