On October 20th, 2024, Murrieta AYLUS members helped at local senior centers.
At Torrey Pines Senior Living: The volunteers arrived to help entertain and prepare the residents’ snacks. They led the residents through various exercises for the day and led a meditation, and also helped prepare snacks by cutting fruit, spooning yogurt, and pouring some cereal. After putting on the Sunday Mass, some residents opted to go outside to enjoy the sunlight and take walks. Some residents chose to stay outside while others went back inside to enjoy their snack. A music group arrived for a performance soon after, which the residents enjoyed outside while the volunteers helped ensure they didn’t fall and made sure they were comfortable. Afterwards, the residents were taken inside for lunch.

On October 20th, 2024, Murrieta AYLUS members played piano for seniors.
Members signed in at the front desk before heading towards the library, where they found the couches already filled with seniors. They joyfully greeted members, giving them hugs. Members started off with some fun jazz pieces that got seniors dancing in their seats. Then they played some famous classical pieces before taking song requests for the last 15 minutes. At the end, members gave seniors hugs before getting a sweet treat.
