On October 19th, 2024, Murrieta AYLUS members volunteered with the A Brush With Kindness program.
Arriving at the tail end of the prep work, the volunteers helped with some final tarp and tape laying before attending the briefing meeting. They spent some time admiring the neighbors’ turkeys and chickens, basking in the cacophony for their work soundtrack. Taking one of the sides to themselves, they split up the work between elevations, and were able to cover the larger lower face of the wall, leaving the top triangle for someone taller. They took a short break before splitting off into different sides. Some opted for the other side wall to paint over stains, while the others went to the back for a first coat. In the middle of their work they took a longer break for snacks and hydrating, before finishing off the areas. They cleaned up the area by folding up the tarps and coating the pillars of the porch, before washing off the paint from their hands.
