Wellcome Middle School is an underserved school in Pitt County, with many students needing to catch up in English, Math, and Science courses. This afternoon, GreenvilleNC AYLUS members, joined by volunteers from local university and community college, along with the Association of Mexicans in North Carolina, Inc. (AMEXCAN), discussed plans for how to engage and support those students and participated in practice sessions. Participants brainstormed the logistics, workflow, and curriculum layout for the tutoring sessions, with the goal to maximize the educational value for the middle schoolers.
