On July 2nd, 2024, four students from Paul J Gelinas Junior High School, Robert Cushman Murphy Junior High School and Ward Melville High School founded the 161st branch of the Alliance of Youth Leaders in the United States (AYLUS): Stony Brook, NY

Description of the Stony Brook Branch:
We are a branch based in Stony Brook, NY. We are a branch focused on providing technology related service to our community. All of our 4 founders are very familiar with and interested in technology including coding, web development, programming, etc. Some of our events may include but are not limited to: aiding people in nursing homes and senior communities who aren’t very familiar with modern technology, teaching coding classes for children in local libraries, and helping launch websites for local pet shelters to help pets be more easily adopted, along with possibly partnering with other organizations to help in additional ways.
