Murrieta AYLUS Helps Outreach Farm Project ( Pumpkin harvest) #2 (10/12/2024)

Reported by Adora Xiao :

On October 12th, 2024, Murrieta AYLUS helped with the Outreach Farm Project (Pumpkin harvest).
The volunteers started the day with picking up pumpkins that’d already been cut off the vines, moving them to a pile where they’d be picked up and loaded into crates and trucks. They took turns passing the pumpkins along to each other, ducking under the dust as the tarps were pulled up. Eventually, they formed an assembly to pass the pumpkins along to each other along a shorter distance. Given the heat, the volunteers took turns taking water breaks, soon clearing out the entire harvest. Afterwards, they pulled up the plants and set them aside to be collected, also pulling up the plastic tarps so the plows could come through and folding the water lines. With some pumpkins remaining, they loaded the remainder onto the truck, before taking the discards and tossing them off the cliff.
