On Saturday, October 5th Syosset AYLUS members came back to the Eisenhower farmer’s market hosted by CCE Nassau. The farmer’s market is a perfect place for local vendors to come and share their handmade products. From jams to dahlias, there’s something for everyone. In addition, there is always a local farm that comes to sell their fresh produce as well.
Volunteers started arriving as early as eight in the morning to help prepare the market. They set up tents, tables, and everything in between to help with the market. In addition, volunteers helped keep a visitor count to help keep track of the logistics of the market. An activities center was also set up for any younger guests. A variety of coloring sheets, word searches, and other fun activities were available! This stand also doubled up as a representative stand for TasteNY, a vendor that used to be at up at the field but had to move into a building a short walk away. This stand helps let visitors know more about Taste New York in hopes of earning them a visit. As the day came to an end, everyone helped clean up and put everything away for the next session.
