Description of Howard County Branch

The AYLUS Howard County Branch is part of AYLUS (the Alliance of Youth Leaders in the United States), a student-run nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth and advancing communities across the nation. Through leadership, service, and civic engagement, AYLUS provides students with meaningful opportunities to make a positive and lasting impact in their local communities.

As a recognized Presidential Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) Certifying Organization, AYLUS has supported members in earning PVSA Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals in recognition of their outstanding service hours and commitment to volunteerism. While the PVSA program is currently temporarily paused, AYLUS is actively partnering with the Congressional Award program, one of the most prestigious youth recognition awards in the United States, to continue providing members with opportunities to set goals, serve their communities, and receive national-level recognition for their achievements.

The Howard County Branch of AYLUS is dedicated to addressing pressing community needs and shaping a better future through the collective efforts of passionate and driven student leaders. Our mission is to enhance community empowerment and foster a stronger sense of unity across diverse groups within our community. We focus on environmental protection, civic engagement, and caring for individuals and families in need through a wide range of volunteer initiatives. From educational outreach and cultural programs to environmental projects and service-based events, our efforts are designed to actively engage youth while creating meaningful, lasting impact. By bringing students and community members together through service, we strive to cultivate leadership, responsibility, and compassion in the next generation.

Our branch welcomes high school students as well as junior members from kindergarten through 8th grade, aiming to foster a spirit of volunteerism from an early age. So, if you’re a student in Howard County, Maryland, we invite you to join our branch. Together, we can help each member achieve their full potential while also benefiting our community.
