While volunteering at St. John’s Fair of Lattingtown 71st Annual Country Fair on September 14, 2024, from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, I had the opportunity to work alongside my peers to set up tablecloths and organize the event space before the event began. Throughout the day, I managed the beverage station, which involved resupplying drinks, keeping ice stocked, handling cashier duties, and ensuring efficient customer service. My role also required me to make sure customers received the correct change and that beverages were easily accessible and presented attractively.
This experience not only sharpened my skills in product management and money handling but also significantly boosted my confidence in managing events. I learned to handle multiple orders simultaneously and accurately manage funds, both of which will be useful for future school activities like organizing bake sales or other fundraisers. Beyond school, these lessons have given me the ability to take on more responsibilities in community events. Overall, this experience helped me develop valuable organizational skills that I can apply in both academic and community settings.
