On September 29, Aylus Syosset volunteer at Long Island Chinese School, allowed us to assist teachers by printing educational materials and preparing resources, ensuring lessons ran smoothly. The volunteers also supported students by looking after them during activities, providing assistance when needed, and encouraging participation. Ensuring the safety of students was a crucial part of our role, including monitoring them during breaks and supervising arrival and dismissal times. This experience, while challenging at times, helped us develop better communication and problem-solving skills. We learned to be patient, adaptable, and attentive to the needs of different age groups. Overall, volunteering was rewarding, as we contributed to a positive and efficient learning environment.
