Reported by Rhianna Zhang

On September 28th, 2024, members of AYLUS Newtown volunteered at the Car Show for Autism event from 2pm to 4 pm. Members organized and coordinated the event along with other volunteers. Participating AYLUS members were Rhianna Zhang and David Soong, volunteering for 2 hours and 2.5 hours, respectively.

Our volunteers were responsible for a variety of tasks throughout the event. These included helping with registration, managing traffic flow in the parking lot, assisting vendors, and ensuring the event ran smoothly by directing attendees. Volunteers also interacted with participants, answering questions about the event and providing information about the organization hosting the event, Potential Inc, which engages children and adults with autism in personalized programs that help them realize their full potential.

Over the course of the day, our team assisted in ensuring a well-organized and successful event. The car show was attended by huge crowds of people, and the funds raised will enable Potential Inc. to continue providing invaluable resources and support, furthering their mission to create opportunities for individuals with autism.

The event was definitely a success, and the dedication of the volunteers was commendable. Through their hard work, AYLUS Newtown fulfilled its mission of supporting the local community, and the volunteers made a lasting impact, reinforcing the connection between our organization and the broader mission of advocating for individuals with autism.
