On Sunday, September 22nd, AYLUS Houston returned to the Houston Food Bank for another rewarding volunteer session. Over the course of three hours, our members worked in the Carousel Room, where they concentrated on sorting and sanitizing boxes of food items to ensure they were ready for distribution to those in need.
The tasks involved carefully going through food donations, checking their condition, and sanitizing them to maintain safety and quality. This effort plays a key role in the Food Bank’s operations, helping to guarantee that nutritious food reaches families and individuals struggling with food insecurity.
We are incredibly proud of our volunteers for their dedication and teamwork, which made the day a great success. Their commitment highlights the significant impact that young people can have in addressing pressing community issues. We also extend our gratitude to the Houston Food Bank for allowing us to be part of their mission.
We look forward to continuing this partnership and are excited for future opportunities to contribute to the fight against hunger in our community.
