The AYLUS Bellaire Branch volunteered at the Car Wash Fundraiser for the Bellaire High School Art Car Club on September 28th, 2024

AYLUS Bellaire Branch volunteered at the Car Wash Fundraiser for the Bellaire High School Art Car Club on September 28th, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM.

To set up the event, volunteers propped up ladders to hang up dry towels and connected the car wash sprayers to the hoses by the Firehouse Subs parking lot. Volunteers then advertised the car wash by using decorated painted signs along the street intersection. Once car wash customers arrived, volunteers first sprayed down a car with water using a hose, then used soap and towels to scrub the car exterior including the windows, doors, windshield, mirrors, and tires. After drying down the car with towels, volunteers applied tire shine to polish and restore the car to good condition. In total, AYLUS members cleaned over 30 cars and raised over $700. The money raised will go towards benefitting the Art Car Club to buy materials and create an art car to compete at The Orange Show’s Houston Art Car Parade & Festival in April 2025.
