On September 28, 2024, Pearland volunteers led a successful bucket drumming class at GiGi’s Playhouse Houston as part of the SMILE 4 Special Needs initiative. The volunteers trained local youth on how to conduct lessons, emphasizing the importance of adapting to different learning styles across age groups of individuals with special needs. They also reviewed class procedures and introduced games to make the sessions engaging and fun. The event was a success, with a focus on making the program sustainable by equipping the youth volunteers with the skills to continue offering inclusive and enjoyable classes.
