AYLUS Great Neck Branch Fundraising at Farmers Market located in the Firefighters Park(2024-4th) On September 22, 2024, from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM, volunteers from the AYLUS Great Neck Branch participated in a fundraising event at the Farmers Market held in Firefighters Park. The goal was to raise $300 for the CP Nassau organization, which supports individuals with developmental disabilities in Nassau County.
Though the market officially started at 10:00 AM, volunteers Kevin and Carrie arrived half an hour early to secure a prime location for our booth and set up the display. Our shop featured a variety of student-made items, including handcrafted trinkets such as bracelets and crochet bags, as well as homemade food items like cookies. Since all items were produced by students, we were able to keep costs low and maximize the funds raised for the cause.
This time, we exceeded our goal, raising over $400. Much of this success can be attributed to the efforts of volunteers like All our team member are working productively , they took initiative by stepping away from the booth and directly engaging with passersby. They managed to sell around 30 cookies at $2 each, which significantly boosted our sales. Their proactive approach in bringing products directly to potential customers helped us reach our fundraising target.
Overall, the event was a success. We not only achieved our financial goals but also learned valuable lessons about taking initiative and engaging with the public—insights that we plan to apply to future fundraising efforts.
