On Saturday, September 21st, the Aylus Roslyn Branch came together to donate books to send to Taiwan. Books for Taiwan is a nonprofit organization funded by donations and staffed by volunteers. Children’s books are collected and shipped across the Pacific to Taiwan. The books are distributed to schools, community centers, and prisons throughout Taiwan. Books for Taiwan has sent over 1.3 million books since 2012!
Members brought in books that we no longer needed or used. These books ranged from small infant picture books to middle school-leveled chapter books. As more book donations were coming in, we made sure to organize the books into boxes so it would be ready for pick up and shipped to Taiwan.
Donating books gives us an opportunity to see how fortunate we are to have access to books and education. With these donations, other children in Taiwan are able to experience the same. We would like to thank our members for donating books!
